Our commitment to the planet

We joined Protect Our Winters after attending The Blue Earth Summit in Bristol. Their mission is to empower outdoor enthusiasts to advocate for climate action and secure a sustainable future for generations to come. Let’s protect our environment together!

What is Protect Our Winters?

Protect Our Winters (POW) is an organisation of passionate outdoor enthusiasts committed to fighting climate change by advocating for systemic solutions. POW works with policymakers, businesses, and other organisations to create meaningful changes that will help protect our planet’s winter ecosystems. The organisation also provides educational resources to inform people about the impacts of climate change on outdoor recreation and how they can act.

What’s our Commitment?

We are proud to join Protect Our Winters as part of its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. As part of this commitment, where possible we pledged to support our clients to find sustainable materials for their products, we will also look for circular design opportunities within their products such as durability, material breakdown for recycling and much more to ensure their products planetary impact is minimal. Additionally, we will be donating a portion of our proceeds towards supporting POW’s efforts in protecting our winters.

Why is Protect Our Winters Necessary?

Climate change is having a devastating impact on our planet’s winter ecosystems and outdoor recreation activities. Rising temperatures have caused snow levels to decrease significantly in many areas, leading to shorter ski seasons and less reliable conditions for skiing and snowboarding. Glaciers are melting at an alarming rate due to rising temperatures, threatening the livelihoods of many mountain communities dependent on them for water supply. In addition, warmer temperatures are causing more frequent and intense wildfires, further damaging fragile ecosystems.

What are the Benefits of signing up?

By signing up to Protect Our Winters, organisations can help raise awareness about the devastating impacts of climate change on our planet’s winter ecosystems and outdoor recreation activities. Through this collaboration, take tangible actions such as reducing their own carbon footprints or donating money towards POW’s efforts in protecting our winters. By taking these steps together, we can work towards creating systemic solutions that will help protect our planet now and for future generations.

Conclusion

Protect Our Winters is an important initiative dedicated to helping fight climate change by advocating for what will protect our planet now and for future generations. We joined this effort because it’s a problem that’s close to our harts as outdoor and skiing enthusiasts, it’s also the right thing to do and perhaps our donation will encourage other companies and individuals alike to do their part in supporting this cause! If your interested in donating & signing up or want to find out more about our contribution or how you can help, please give us a call, we’d love to help!

With so much happening over 2021, with lockdowns, vaccines, environmental strikes and Cop 26. This Christmas, we felt our card and gift should reflect the events of the year.
