Fujifilm’s Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED (HB60) printer, developed by Realise Industrial Design alongside Fujifilm’s UK wide-format team in Broadstairs, has been awarded the prestigious iF Design Award 2025 and Red Dot Design Award 2025.

Every printer from the Realise + Fujifilm collaboration has now won awards, continuing the global recognition of the quality of the printers and the commercial success this has delivered for Fujifilm.

What is the HB60?

The HB60 is a Hybrid Printer, the most complex, but flexible platform in the wide-format digital printing market. The following diagram explains the difference:

ROLL to ROLL

  • Highest speed
  • Less media flexibility
  • Easy handling of volume

HYBRID

  • High speed
  • Maximum media flexibility
  • Highest complexity & cost

FLATBED

  • Lowest speed
  • Excellent print flexibility
  • Easy operation for low volumes

Fujifilm’s Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED printer delivers fast, high-quality printing on both rigid and flexible materials. It handles everything from paper to plastic, making it ideal for packaging, signs, and displays. The HB60 helps print companies maximise their return on investment while expanding their creative options.

What Makes It Award-Worthy? It’s all about the details…

The award judges recognised that the combination of Fujifilm’s technology with our technical industrial design once again created an excellent product for their customers. This success highlights Fujifilm’s 6-year transformation in the wide-format market.

Our focused HB60 development included:

  • Solving the innovative vacuum bed design – the HB60’s stable media transport system prevents creasing and slipping through optimised vacuum pressure distribution. Developed using advanced modelling and testing, the newly designed stable, adjustable bed structure is economical to produce, assemble, and maintain.
  • Optimised architecture – The compact HB60 design challenged us to rethink our approach. We found innovative ways to fit vacuum pumps that are both easy to maintain and remarkably quiet—you can barely hear them running!
  • Vastly improved operator usability – new integrated media tables at the front and back designed based on real-world operator feedback. Features like built-in rollers and a custom locking system allow a single operator to easily move, connect, and disconnect the table as needed for loading, setup, and inspection tasks.
  • Application of Fujifilm’s new design language – Uses the aesthetic we developed for Acuity to maintain brand consistency and convey the approachability and reliability that define Fujifilm.

Building on Success

This latest award builds on our track record of success with Fujifilm. Our design work has previously been recognised with:

🏆 2022: Acuity Ultra R2 – iF, Red Dot & Good Design / Acuity Prime – iF, Red Dot & Good Design

🏆 2023: Acuity Prime L – iF & Red Dot

🏆 2024: Acuity Prime Hybrid – Red Dot

🏆 2025: Acuity Ultra Hybrid LED (HB60) – iF & Red Dot

Each new version of the Acuity range has pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in industrial printing, combining technical excellence, with user-centred design to create printers that perform brilliantly.
