Realise Product Design helps businesses design and launch fantastic new products.
We're a small, growing product design consultancy based in Bath producing exciting work for UK and international clients. We love what we do and strive to produce the best work possible whilst having a good time. We are now looking for a like-minded person to join us, help develop more award-winning products and achieve our long term company vision.
You
You will lead a small team to design and develop new product ideas.
You will have a proven track record in designing and launching products. You will run projects from the initial scoping meeting and proposals, right through to delivering the final design solution. Your creative, but rational approach to sketching, 2D and 3D concept development and physical model making will ensure you reach a winning result every time. Your sound knowledge of manufacturing and engineering principles allows you to develop detailed CAD models, prototypes and high quality design documentation for manufacture.
You will be working within a lively and highly motivated team, leading several junior designers. They will look to you for instruction and decisive leadership to get projects complete on time and on budget. They'll be inspired by your honed design skills, attention to detail and dedication to doing a job well. Your dazzling creativity and natural ability to pick a winning concept are essential for the role. Your rapport with our trusted clients and ability to convince them of a good idea will ensure the best concepts are realised.
You will need to have:
- A good degree in Product Design or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years hands-on experience designing products
- High quality creative conceptual thinking – and the ability to create original ideas under pressure
- Excellent visual and verbal communication skills and the ability to get ideas across
- First rate sketching and exploration of forms and mechanisms
- Encyclopaedic knowledge of production processes and materials
- Strong understanding of engineering and mechanical design principles
- Expertise in Solidworks and at least one top level rendering package
- Pixel perfect skills in Photoshop and Illustrator

We love what we do and strive to produce the best work possible whilst having a good time. We are now looking for a like-minded person to join our crew to support us whilst we continue to design award-winning products.
You
You will help ensure the smooth running of our busy design studio and effectively market our services.
You will identify and win over prospective clients, create buzz through PR activities, track our time and costs and chase invoices. These tasks are crucial for our continued growth and must run like clockwork.
You will be working within a lively and highly motivated team. Your outstanding interpersonal skills and excellent English language skills are essential for the role. Ideally, you will have a proven track-record in marketing. You will have first-rate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Any experience with QuickBooks or Photoshop would be an advantage. A background in design would be beneficial in understanding our industry.
Your specific tasks will include:
- Develop and run marketing systems:
- Identify and track opportunities
- Develop relationships with new and existing clients
- Generate awareness and leads through PR & Web marketing
- Contribute to our on-going marketing and sales strategy
- Perform basic accounting tasks such as invoicing and purchasing
- Manage relationships with our partner companies
- Carry out general office administration
- Correspond with clients and ensure appropriate actions are taken

We are now looking for a like-minded person to join our crew to help design even better award-winning products.
You
You delight us and our clients with your creatively beautiful solutions to problems.
You will research, sketch ideas, draw up and present concepts. You will develop ideas in 3D CAD, make hard choices on details and how to solve real world problems to achieve world class products.
You will be working within a lively and highly motivated team. Great interpersonal skills and excellent English language skills are essential for the role. You must have be able to enthuse us with outstanding sketching and development of ideas in your portfolio. We want to see you can deliver really clever design solutions under intense pressure. You will have first-rate skills in Solidworks, rendering software and Adobe Creative Suite. You also need to be pretty handy with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Experience with Maxwell Render, Flash, Rhino or similar would be an advantage. A background in some kind of entreprenurial activity would help you understand how to achieve profit in our business.
Your specific tasks will include:
- Assist with scoping jobs, researching design requirements and writing design briefs
- Carry out creative concept design sketching
- Develop ideas and turn them into well designed Solidworks CAD models
- Carry out project based administration
- Correspond with clients and ensure appropriate actions are taken
